converb strategy
a strategy used in the stative complex predicate construction in which the manner (more generally, stative) component is packaged as a separate primary predication coordinated with the event predication using a deranked complex sentence strategy. However, the stative predicate does not index (any of) its argument(s). Example: in Turkana è-pès-e-tè nɪ-a-ron-o-nì̥ They kick him badly [lit. They kick him, it being bad] the form of nɪ-a-ron-o-nì̥ be bad is a Neuter deranked form, not indexing the third person plural subject of kick. (Section 14.2)
