anterior deranking
the variant of a deranking strategy in which the deranked clauses precede the clause that is expressed like a simple main clause. Example: Japanese ojiisanga yamade hataraite obaasanga miseno bano shita The old man worked at the mountain, and the old woman tended the store is an instance of anterior deranking -- the suffix -te on hataraite worked indicates that the anterior predicate is deranked.
